Former Group Members
Fabián García Daza
Post-Doctoral Researcher 2019 - 2022
Current position: Computational Chemist at Oxcitas
Fabián obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at the Rovira i Virgili University in 2016. During his years at URV, he studied the static and dynamic equilibrium properties of surfactant micelles by using coarse-grained mean-field simulations under the supervision of Prof. Allan Mackie.
Subsequently, he joined as a Postdoctoral Fellow (PF) the MSLMS group of Prof. Elena Akhmatskaya at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM). In 2018 he was promoted as a BCAM-energiGUNE joint PF. In collaboration with energiGUNE researchers he studied the diffusion in LLZO solid electrolytes (Li-ion batteries) using effective enhanced sampling Hybrid Monte Carlo methods developed in the MSLMS group.
In 2019, Fabián joined our group at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Manchester, sponsored by the Leverhulme Trust. His research focused on the extension of the dynamic Monte Carlo (DMC) method to simulation of inhomogeneous colloidal systems and to the study of active and passive microrheology.
