The U.S. Army Research Office has funded our project Smart Polymer Nanocomposites (SPACE).
SPACE will unravel the genesis of the structure-properties relationships that stem from the nanoscopic interactions established at the interface between polymer and nanoparticles and impact the macroscopic response of a polymer nanocomposite. SPACE will provide the fundamental understanding to design smart nanomaterials able to selectively respond to external fields and tune their properties accordingly.
SPACE will run between March 2023 and February 2026
Coarse-grained model
We use coarse-grained Molecular Dynamics simulations to explore how different nanoparticle types affect the transport properties of polymer nanocomposites at the microscopic level.
